Vibe Coding A Website: From v0.dev Experiment to AI Innovation Hub

What started as a simple experiment with v0.dev quickly turned into one of those late-night vibe coding sessions where time disappears and you emerge hours later with something entirely different than what you planned. You know the feeling - you sit down to test a tool, and before you know it, you’re deep in the zone, refactoring, redesigning, and adding features you never intended.

That’s exactly how AI Innovation Hub came to be.

The v0.dev Starting Point

I initially wanted to test out v0.dev’s capabilities - the AI-powered UI generator that promises to turn ideas into React components. The plan was simple: generate a basic landing page, see how clean the code was, maybe write a quick review. Standard developer stuff.

But v0.dev gave me something unexpectedly solid. Clean components, decent styling, responsive design patterns that actually made sense. Instead of just analyzing the output, I found myself tweaking it, improving it, and before long, I was in full vibe-coding mode.

The Evolution

What began as a generated template evolved into something with actual purpose. The initial v0.dev output became the foundation, but the real magic happened in those hours of flow state coding that followed. Adjusting the color palette, refining the animations, optimizing the user experience - all the little touches that turn generated code into something that feels intentional.

The website transformed from a simple test page into something more ambitious: a centralized platform for AI tool discovery.

The Target Vision

The goal is straightforward but important: create a place that tells users about the latest AI tools, explains their use cases, and offers a platform that actually delivers on that promise. Too many AI directories are just link dumps or affiliate marketing schemes disguised as resources.

I wanted to build something different - a platform that:

  • Actually explains what each tool does

  • Provides real use cases, not marketing fluff

  • Helps people find the right AI solution for their specific needs

  • Stays current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape

The Technical Reality

The site runs on Next.js with a clean, dark-themed interface that puts the content first. The centerpiece is an interactive AI Innovation Hub orb - a visual element that serves as both navigation and a representation of the interconnected nature of modern AI tools.

The architecture is designed to scale. What started as static content is built to accommodate a growing database of AI tools, user reviews, and detailed use case studies.

Why This Matters

The AI space moves fast. Really fast. New tools launch weekly, existing tools pivot or disappear, and keeping track of what’s actually useful versus what’s just hype is a full-time job.

The vision is to cut through that noise and provide a reliable resource for anyone trying to navigate the AI toolkit landscape - whether you’re a developer looking for the right API, a content creator exploring automation, or a business owner trying to understand what AI can actually do for you.

The Vibe Coding Lesson

Sometimes the best projects aren’t the ones you plan meticulously. They’re the ones that emerge naturally from a moment of curiosity and a willingness to follow where the code leads you. v0.dev gave me the starting point, but the real value came from those hours of unplanned development - the kind where you’re not watching the clock because you’re genuinely excited about what you’re building.

That’s the magic of vibe coding: you start with one intention and end up with something completely different, and somehow better than what you originally planned.

The AI Innovation Hub is live at https://ai-hub-one.vercel.app/ - a reminder that sometimes the best way to evaluate a tool is to use it as a foundation for something bigger.

What’s Next

The platform is just getting started. The plan is to continuously add new AI tools, detailed reviews, and practical use case examples. The goal is to make it the go-to resource for anyone trying to make sense of the AI tool ecosystem.

But for now, it stands as proof that sometimes the best development happens when you stop overthinking and just start building.
